You ran for too long. Now you wake up on a quiet shore, and a small light called Ember says nobody here is in a hurry.

Anew is a slow idle game about walking the road of life. You meet people and small situations along the way - an old fisherman with a tangled net, a ginger cat that thinks you owe it something, a letter in a bottle addressed "to whoever is tired too." Instead of gear, you collect traits: habits, outlooks, bonds, memories, dreams.

Some meetings leave scars. Scars heal slowly - and when they do, they turn into gold, like kintsugi.

  • Play a few minutes, or leave it running in a corner of your screen
  • Meet people, collect traits, let go of what no longer fits
  • Furnish a little home with the things you find along the road
  • Quiet evening meditations where fears dissolve into fireflies
  • Companions who join you if you're kind to them twice

Progress is saved in your browser. This is an early version - I'd love to hear where you got hooked and where you stopped.
